Hello,

My name is Harrison Higgins and I am a member of the New York Old Blue Rugby Football Club. I am a current player of the premiership side team and have been a part of this club since February 2015. Today, I present to you our rugby calendar charity for 2016.

I personally love to give back and help contribute to my club and the community around us and I got together with 11 of my mates, and we took off our kits to make this calendar for charity.

Our goal is to raise funds for our chosen charity foundations, The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation and The Wounded Warrior Project, whilst also promoting the sport of rugby in the United States, the multicultural diversity of our team, and enjoying the fun that comes along with making a calendar

The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation is a non-profit, registered 501(c)(3) charity that is dedicated to finding treatments and cures for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury and other neurological disorders. It also works to improve the quality of life for people living with disabilities.

This charity is dear to my heart because in 2010, while competing in an equestrian championship, my sister Chelsea Higgins suffered life-altering injuries due to a fall.   She suffered major brain injury, damage to her lung and liver and paralysis in the right side of her body.

The Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation helps not only to fund research in spinal cord injury cures, but also creates programs and resources to help those people suffering from paralysis like my sister Chelsea.

The Wounded Warrior Project is a non-profit, registered 501(c)(3) charity that supports United States veterans that were injured following 9/11.  Wounded Warrior Project gives aid to service members that are suffering from physical wounds and injuries, as well as post-traumatic stress, severe depression and mental illness.  The goal of Wounded Warrior Project is to help the service members and their families that are suffering from lack of support and assistance.

The Wounded Warrior Project is of personal significance to Jade Young and his team, our club, and myself. Although the sacrifice of service members is immeasurable, this contribution will be our way of saying thank you and that we care about the people and families who are living with the aftereffects of injuries and disabilities.

50% of the calendar proceeds will go to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.

25% of the proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project.

We made a great calendar for you and we hope you will help support these charities and our rugby club, so let's make 2016 an amazing year together.
